Recognition of TIC certification
Equivalence of certificates issued by different certification bodies in the world is achieved through mechanism of affiliation of accreditation bodies to so called MLA - multilateral agreement on mutual recognition (MLA - Multilateral Agreement). Under the MLA, national accreditation bodies perform mutual inspection based on agreed procedure, and can be recognized by members of the MLA only in case of inspection positive results. There is an agreement between members of the MLA on mutual recognition of each other’s accreditations and certificates of accredited certification bodies.
Up to now, mechanism of multilateral agreements on mutual recognition works in:
a) regional agreements:
- in Europe – i.e. EA, the European Cooperation for Accreditation (EA - European co-operation for Accreditation);
- in the Pacific region – PAC, Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (PAC - Pacific Accreditation Cooperation);
- in American continent - IAAC, the Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC - Interamerican Accreditation Cooperation);
b) under special arrangements IAF-MLA (Multilateral Recognition Arrangement) of the International Accreditation Forum IAF (IAF - International Accreditation Forum). The IAF, in turn, has a recognition agreement with EA and PAC.
In Germany, German accreditation body DAkkS (Die Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH) works as accreditation body. Its scope of activities includes accreditation of certification bodies engaged in audit of management systems. In the process of accreditation, in particular, it verifies compliance of certification body with ISO/MEK 17021:2011 standard requirements
DAkkS (as assignee of TGA and DGA) is a member of Agreement on mutual recognition of MLA certificates based on ISO 9001starting form January 22, 1998, and based on ISO 14001 starting from October 9, 2004.
The certification body of TÜV Thüringen e.V. TÜV International Certification (TIC) Registered association has Accreditation Certificates of DGA and TGA with the right to carry out certification of quality management systems in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001, DIN EN ISO 14001, BS OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000, “ISO 50001” standards. This means that their certificates are internationally recognized outside Germany and in all countries that signed the IAF-MLA agreement - in Europe, Japan, the USA, Canada, Australia/New Zealand, China, etc.
