ISO 28000 - Supply Chain Security Management System

Object of standartization: Supply Chain Security Management System (SCSMS).

Standard used for certification of SCSMS: ISO 28000:2007 « Supply Chain Security Management System. Specifications".

This International Standard specifies requirements for safety management system, including aspects that are critical to sefety of supply chain.

Safety management is linked to many other aspects of business management. Aspects include all activities controlled or influenced by organizations that affect supply chain security. These other aspects should be considered right at the time and place, where and when they have an impact on safety management, including transportation of these goods in supply chain.

This International Standard was developed in response to need in the industry standard for safety management. Its ultimate goal is to improve supply chains safety. It is a high-level standard management that enables organizations to create a complete system of security management for supply chains. In accordance with requirements, organization should evaluate their environment in terms of security as well as to determine whether the safety measures to be taken in place are adequate and whether there is mandatory sefety requirements being implemented by organization.
